Some recent blog posts have analysed and crticised the interview for Time Magazine, done by the “Google Guys”
Google: Porn? Users Don’t Want No Stinkin’ Porn!
It seems according to Google, ‘porn’ searches are not the most popular searches done at google…
The online article only mentions the the ‘porn’ angle once, and they don’t elaborate on it.
Acoording to the “Google Guys” porn represents - a small, single-digit percentage of searches… BUT it seems they didn’t want the facts to get in the way of a good story..
There are many search tracking sites across the net and the most popular - Wordtracker would appear to disagree with what they say..
Searches per day:-
hotel(s) - 9,000+
real estate - 20,000+
money - 16,000+
britney(spears) - 71,000+ (followed by ‘porn’ searches ‘britney spears nude’ - 22,000+, and ‘britney spears naked’ - 18000+)
now lets look at ‘porn’
porn - 216,000+
xxx - 77,000+
sex - 145,000+
(These numbers are averages, and do not indicate searches at Google only)
Hmmmm seems like somone isn’t telling the whole truth…
